Jennifer’s Summary in Glastonbury Life

My name is Jennifer Faust, and I am grateful for the opportunity to run for a seat on the Board of Education. Allow me to share a little bit about myself. Almost a decade ago, my husband was captivated by the charm of Glastonbury and decided to make it his home. Soon after our meeting, it was clear to me as well why he chose this town. With its vibrant community, outstanding education system, and abundance of activities, Glastonbury clearly offers a fulfilling and enriching lifestyle. Since then, our family has grown, and we have been blessed with three beautiful children. Our values are deeply rooted in country, community, and family. My husband has served in the military and as a local first responder for the past two decades. He retired recently from military service after his second deployment in 2021. With his increased availability, I am now poised to serve our community publicly, mirroring his commitment in a different form.

We will respect and advocate for the rights of parents to choose what information their children consume

Jennifer’s Letter in The Glastonbury Citizen, October 5th 2023

In addition to being a hands-on mother, I am a dedicated professional in the health insurance industry and also own a small business. It is through these diverse roles that I have gained valuable insights into managing time, resources, and working collaboratively with others. One of the primary reasons I decided to run for the Board of Education stems from the love I have for my children, and all children, understanding and respecting the gravity of education and its transformative power. Being the mother of three unique children with distinct personalities and individual needs, I understand firsthand the importance of a well-rounded education for our children’s future success. I believe that every child deserves access to high-quality education that serves their unique needs and prepares them for the challenges of the future. I am eager to contribute my skills, dedication, and fresh perspective to the Board.
If elected, I will endorse student-centered policies that prioritize their growth and development in today’s rapidly changing world. I will promote emphasis on knowledge-based critical thinking and problem solving. I am also committed to providing a safe and inclusive learning environment where students feel supported and empowered to reach their full potential.
Additionally, I firmly believe in fostering strong partnerships between schools, families, and the community to ensure the success of our education system, mindful of the bounds of fiscal responsibility to all taxpayers. Together, we can work towards shaping a brighter future and providing the best educational opportunities for our children in Glastonbury
